Meaning of Taliban in Afghanistan?

Right Meaning of Taliban?

The history of the world is basically written for the conquerors. The victors always have the favor of history as long as they can hold on to victory. The reaction of various quarters in the last few days in the wake of the new rise of the Taliban seems to be reminiscent of that. The media, which usually portrays the Taliban as a barbaric militant group, is now hailed as a freedom fighter after the conquest of Kabul. One historian is right that the history of the world is in fact the history of the conquerors.

However, the Taliban returned to Kabul more dramatically than expected. Herat, Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif, Ghazni, Jalalabad, they did not have to rush to capture Kabul at the speed of the storm. The Afghan army, which has received state-of-the-art training at the hands of the Americans at the cost of billions of dollars, has not put up any resistance. Didn't cost up to a bullet. Such a bloodless victory is truly unimaginable in the modern age. To save his life, the well-educated Academician President of Afghanistan chose the humiliating way of escaping through the back door with his aristocracy, nobility, dignity and shame. The desperate efforts of the American authorities to evacuate American citizens in a hurry hurriedly portrayed the fugitive helplessness of the most powerful country in the world. And the unprecedented attempt by Afghans to leave the country by air at Kabul airport is unparalleled in any respect. All in all, the unlimited flow of events is going on in the world media.

The Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996-2001, at one point after the war against Soviet Russia as one of the most common independence groups in southern Afghanistan in the 1980s. Then after Nine-Eleven the picture changed. As the United States and its allies used the Taliban against Russia, they became more and more active in countering the Taliban. Deposed them. Freedom-loving fighters instantly turned into militant-terrorists. Then, after spending a lot of money over the last 20 years, they failed to eradicate the Taliban even after the final display of military might. In the end, it would be wise for them to end the war through a peace treaty. In the context of that agreement, this almost bloodless victory, which America itself may not have imagined. There are several reasons behind this effortless victory.

(1) War, struggle, armament is an ancient tradition of Afghans. Every house of the Pashtun community must have weapons. The arsenal of aristocracy in their homes proves how warlike a nation they are. Afghanistan's climate and mile after mile of rocky terrain are also ideal places to continue fighting year after year. There is no precedent for any foreign power to survive against such a war-loving nation since ancient times. As a result, even sophisticated armies like the United States have not been able to eradicate the Taliban despite their best efforts.

(2) Independent, hard-line Afghans could not accept the presence of foreigners from the heart. As a result, while the Taliban do not support extremist activities, ordinary Afghans have supported them as a group fighting against foreign powers.

(3) The corruption of the pro-Western Afghan government has also garnered widespread public support for the Taliban. I have personally heard from numerous Afghan students studying at my university in Pakistan that the reason most Afghans support the Taliban group is that there was no corruption in the country during the Taliban era. There was justice in the society. As a result, there was peace among the people even though there was no money. And the allegations of their extremism and inhumane acts, which are true in many cases, are mostly exaggerated. They say most of the heinous crimes against humanity committed in recent years, such as covert attacks on offices and courts, and suicide bombings in crowded places, have been committed by isolated militant groups or external enemies. So there is no chance to compare the Taliban with other militant groups.

(4) The tribal society of the Afghans is very strong and conservative. And the members of the Af * gun administration and the Rakhi Bahini belong to one or another tribe of the country. As a result, it was not possible for them to stand up to the Taliban in their respective tribes. Moreover, they did not get the moral strength to fight against their own nation on behalf of foreign troops. As a result, despite being strong in modern weapons, they easily left the field without a fight. Especially when the US itself made a deal with the Taliban, they no longer found the meaning of this war. Rather, he has given priority to his own life.

(5) Above all, Afghans are not religious enough, but they are racially religious. Religion is a very powerful part of their national culture. So they wholeheartedly supported the Taliban's struggle for independence as a war for Islam.

In short, it is certain that the Taliban came to power with sufficient public support and military support. However, it goes without saying that the complex contemporary world politics has also played a strong role behind this. Otherwise, the Taliban would not have won so easily. We will have to wait a few more days to find out who the world powers, including Russia and China, are playing a game of interests and who is playing chess without their knowledge.

Now, many Islamists view the Taliban's war and victory from a purely religious point of view. We think the issue is more political than religious.

This is because the Taliban's war is, in essence, a nationalist war of independence, which has been waged to liberate Af * Gan from foreign troops. This is clear from the current position and rhetoric of the Taliban. So their war has to be seen from their native context. Not from our own point of view. Therefore, if the people of their country accept them as rulers, we have no time to object, we have nothing to say.

Many Ahl al-Hadith or Salafi brethren have brought up the Salafi-Sufi debate in this regard, which is utterly irrelevant in the present context. The Aqeedah and Amalgat debates have been going on since the beginning of the Muslim Ummah, which may continue for some time to come. The hope that this conflict will disappear in an instant is nothing but greed. However, it is important to make every effort to resolve this dispute; It is also necessary to postpone this debate for some time on the question of greater interests and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah. Otherwise, it is not uncommon for the tragic history of the Tatars' attack on Muslims immersed in the Hanafi-Shafi'i debate and the destruction of Baghdad to recur.

Moreover, it is the general policy that individual groups will come and go in the state power from time to time. We can't stop it if we want to. Therefore, in all cases, it is our duty to keep the door of Nasihat open for the rulers of all classes according to the commentary of the Prophet (sm). As if they correct all the aqeedah-manhajagat errors or unjust-unjust errors among them. The Prophet (sm) never made any prediction that the ruler would always be like an angel. On the contrary, whatever the ruler may be, the Prophet (sm) has given clear instructions to all the ummahs to always wish good for them, to kill them and to always speak the truth in front of them. Therefore, in the US-Taliban war, it is unnecessary and pointless to determine the legitimacy or illegitimacy of the ruling party by raising the Salafi-Sufi debate. We can clearly see this from the principle of Imam Ahmad bin Humble. Although he took a stand against the heretical policy of Caliph Mamun, he never questioned his caliphate. Due to the lack of understanding of the maqached of the Shari'ah and the lack of knowledge about the principle of Shari'ah priority (Fiqhul Awlaviyat), we get involved in unnecessary debates and complicate simple equations.

So in light of the current situation, we can say that if the Taliban really wants to build an Islamic edifice in a legitimate way, then we as Muslims will support them. But for that they must give up any kind of extremism. If they can get out of the corrupt policy of making the blood of Muslims halal, violating human rights, deviating from the principles of Ahl as-Sunnah wal Jamaat, hating Salafis, supporting shrines, showing flexibility towards shirk and bidat, then sincere prayers of Muslims all over the world. And they will get love. And if they continue to advance, without abandoning the principles of extremism and extremism, indulging in terrorism and militancy, they will soon lose public support and the world Muslim community will turn away from them.

In the end, as ordinary Muslims, we want the Taliban to take the path of the pure bearers of Islam from state power. May the kingdom which Allah has entrusted to them be properly guarded. Above all, let the air of true good governance and peace of Islam spread; It is our expectation that they will carry out the difficult task of rebuilding war-torn Afghanistan and maintaining peace and security among Afghans. May Allah Almighty grant them that Tawfiq. Amen!
